1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of PublicAlgo (the “Service”), operated by DICE Network z.s., a registered association (spolek) under Czech law, with its registered seat at Plzeňská 3352/156, Smíchov, 150 00 Praha 5, Czech Republic, identification number (IČO) 29704502, registered in the Register of Associations maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section L, Insert 82262 (“we”, “us”).
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What PublicAlgo is
PublicAlgo is a public catalogue of government algorithm systems. It aggregates information from official registers and independent inventories so people can search, compare coverage, and see accountability gaps.
The Service is provided for information and research. It is not legal, regulatory, procurement, or professional advice.
3. Beta
The Service is in beta / early access. Features may change, break, or be withdrawn. There is no production SLA, uptime guarantee, or promise of completeness. Feedback is welcome; it does not create an obligation to ship any particular feature.
4. Acceptable use
You may use PublicAlgo for lawful research, journalism, advocacy, education, and personal inquiry.
You must not:
- use the Service for illegal purposes,
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service,
- scrape or harvest data in ways that abuse the Service or violate applicable law,
- misrepresent PublicAlgo’s content as official government advice or as a complete legal register,
- remove source attributions where we display them.
We may suspend or limit access if we reasonably believe these Terms are violated.
5. Data and privacy
How we process personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service you also acknowledge that policy.
PublicAlgo republishes data that originates from third-party public sources. Those sources remain responsible for their own publications; we are responsible for how we process and display the copies we hold, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual property
We (and our licensors) own the Service’s software, design, branding, and original editorial materials.
Underlying register content remains subject to the rights and terms of the original publishers / public authorities. Where a source requires attribution, we aim to show it.
You may share links and quote limited excerpts with attribution for non-commercial commentary and research, unless a specific source forbids it.
7. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Government algorithm registers change. Our ingest may lag. Fields may be missing, out of date, or mistranslated. Always verify critical facts against the original source.
8. Liability
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR OPPORTUNITY ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory law (including, where such rules apply, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or other non-waivable consumer / EU rights).
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another law.
The courts of the Czech Republic, with local jurisdiction determined by the registered seat of DICE Network z.s. in Prague, have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer or other protections give you a right to bring proceedings elsewhere (including under EU consumer law where applicable).
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date (and, where appropriate, a notice on the site). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms, except where mandatory law requires a different process.
